Netflix just started putting Korean dramas on their platform not too long ago and already, they are stepping up their game. So much so that they have original contents and as someone that lives outside Korea and the US, this is the only way I can get my daily dose of drama. Here are 10 of my favorites. LET’S DIVE IN!!!!
1. Two Worlds Apart

W is one of those drama that you would want to watch more than once. It’s light but not too light. Dark but not too dark. It stars Lee jong-suk and Han hyo-joo. A surgical resident is pulled into the webtoon world of W, which was created by her father, and becomes entangled in a murder mystery. It really is a much watch.
2. Boys Over Flowers

Gu Jun-pyo (Lee Min-ho) is the leader of F4, the most popular and powerful group of boys at the prestigious Shinhwa High School. Yoon Ji-hu (Kim Hyun-Joong), So Yi-jung, and Song Woo-bin – Gu Jun-pyo’s friends and rich heirs in their own right – are all members of the group. When F4 bullies a boy to the verge of suicide, the poor but vivacious Geum Jan-di (Ku Hye-sun) saves his life and receives a swimming scholarship to attend the High School.
3. Doctor Crush

Yoo Hye-jung (Park Shin-hye) was a headstrong girl in high school with a prickly, gangster personality. Due to her many childhood scars, Hye-jung keeps her heart closed towards other people. However, she changes after meeting her mentor Hong Ji-hong (Kim Rae-won), who plays a key role in transforming her life from a “hopeless” delinquent to a compassionate doctor. They part ways subsequently but meet again after 13 years, when Yoo Hye-jung had become a doctor.
4. She Was Pretty

A romantic comedy, about two past acquaintances who meet again after they’ve gone through a reversal of fortunes and appearances, set in the backdrop of a fashion magazine’s publishing office.
Kim Hye-jin(Hwang Jung-eum) was a beautiful girl from a rich family, aka the “Cha’s”. After her family’s publishing company went bankrupt, she experienced hardships then lost her beauty too. Ji Sung-joon( Park Seo-joon) was an unattractive boy with low self-esteem, but grows up as a handsome and successful editor.
The two decided to meet again as adults, but Sung-joon was unable to recognize Hye-jin. Ashamed to meet her first love and ruin his perception of her, Hye-jin asks her attractive best friend, Ha-ri, to appear in her place. Things, however, soon get complicated as Hye-jin was assigned to work at The Most magazine publishing office where Sung-joon is the deputy chief editor. He openly mistreats and belittles her for her clumsy nature, not knowing that she was his real childhood friend. Ha-ri also continues to meet Sung-joon, and soon develops feelings for him. On the other hand, Hye-jin finds a good friend in her workplace, Shin-hyuk,( Choi Si-won) who slowly falls in love with her.
5. Secret Garden

Gil Ra-im (Ha Ji-won), a stuntwoman, and Kim Joo-won (Hyun Bin), a high-end department store CEO. Through a misunderstanding while trying to resolve a scandal of his cousin, Oska (Yoon Sang-hyun), a famous singer, Ra-im and Joo-won meet and he finds himself stunned by her coolness. Joo-won does not understand why Ra-im is constantly on his mind, and decides to pursue her. Though she initially is repelled by him, Ra-im gradually starts reciprocating his feelings. The story gets even more complicated and dramatic when Ra-im and Joo-won magically start switching bodies.
6. One Spring Night

Lee Jung-In( Han Ji-min ) is a librarian who has been in a 4 year relationship with Kwon Gi-Seok( Kim Jun-han ) who is a banker and Yoo Ji-ho’s senior of the University they both attended. Yoo Ji-ho(Jung Hae-in) is a Pharmacist and single dad. After a chance meeting at Ji-ho’s pharmacy, they start seeing love and relationships in a new light.
7. Crash Landing On You

Crash landing on you tells the story of two star crossed lovers, Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye-jin), a South KoreanChaebol heiress, and Ri Jeong-hyeok (Hyun Bin), a member of the North Korean elite and the Captain of the North Korean Special Forces. One day while Yoon Se-ri goes for a short paragliding ride in seoul, a sudden tornado knocks her out and blows her off course. She awakens to find herself up a tree in a forest in the DMZ in North Korea, an area forbidden for South Koreans. There she meets Ri Jeong-hyeok, literally falling into his arms from the tree. Ri Jeong-hyeok eventually gives Yoon Se-ri shelter, and develops plans to secretly help her return to South Korea. Over time, they secretly fall in love despite the dispute and divide between their two countries.
8. Something In The Rain

Jin-ah( Son Ye-jin ) is a 30-something district supervisor at a major coffee/cafe franchise and Joon-hee( Jung Hae-in ) is a 20-something animator for video games. When he returns from working abroad he reconnects with Jin-ah–who also happens to be the best friend with Joon-Hee’s sister since childhood. This series explores the taboo that comes with an older woman dating a younger man. Especially when they’ve known each other since childhood.
9. Descendants Of The Sun

Yoo Si-jin (Song Joong-ki) is the captain of a south Korean Special Forces Unit and Dr. Kang Mo-yeon (Song Hye-kyo) is a cardio thoracic surgeon who works at Haesung Hospital. With one having to take a life and the other saving lives. They fell for each other. Will their love last or will it crumble?
10. Inheritors/The Heirs

The series follows a group of rich, privileged high school students as they are about to take over their families’ business empires, overcoming difficulties and growing every step of the way.
Kim Tan (Lee Min-ho) is a wealthy heir to a large Korean conglomerate called Jeguk Group. He was exiled to the U.S. by his brother Kim Won (Choi Jin-hyuk), who tries to take control of the family business.[10] While in the States, he meets Cha Eun-sang (Park Shin-hye), who went there to look for her sister. Despite being engaged to Yoo Rachel (Kim Ji-won), a fellow heiress, Kim Tan soon falls in love with Eun-sang. When Kim Tan returns to Korea, his former best friend turned enemy Choi Young-do (Kim Woo-bin) begins picking on Eun-sang to irritate Tan. Tension ensues when Young-do also falls in love with Eun-sang, and Kim Tan is forced to choose between his responsibility of pursuing the family business or love.
