We know them, we listen to them and we love them, their music and work speaks to us and they work so hard in a cutthroat industry but lately, we are losing them. Am talking about hallyu stars.
Lately, there’s been a lot of hallyu stars going to rest. Leaving us the fans and most importantly their families behind.
The K-pop is so cutthroat, it takes years to train as a singer, dancer and actress looking forward to the day they debut. Considering that there’s no guarantee that they will ever debut, they still work themselves to the bone only for the unlucky ones to be cut just before debut.
If you are ever lucky to debut, the pressure is always on you to maintain some ridiculously unattainable weight while plastering a fake smile on your face at all times. Add all that to the pressure from your management company which drives some of our favourite stars into depression.
The hallyu industry looks so glamorous and fun on the outside but on the inside, it’s nothing but a rotten egg. This is claiming the lives of these young and talented people (I use people here because first and foremost, they are people. Let’s not forget that).
Kim Jong-hyun(jonghyun) of shinee, Goo Ha-ra of Kara Choi Jin-ri (sulli) of f(X). These people are getting crushed by fame.

We as the fans, need to hold these management companies responsible and make them loosen their grip and reduce the pressure and let them breathe and put a stop to all this.
