The King : Eternal Monarch episode seven did not start up where episode six ended. In fact it takes us back a couple of days before Lee Gon goes back to Korea.
In the kingdom of Corea, we see Prince Buyeong and head court lady Noh talking. Head court lady Noh says it’s been twenty four years since the traitor Lee Rim’s ashes was scattered with Prince Buyeong telling her the truth. He tells her he doesn’t think it’s Lee-rim’s body they found and that he might still be alive somewhere. we see Lee Rim in his dark room printing out Tae-eul’s picture.
In the republic of Korea, Shin-jae and Tae-eul are coming back from their exam practice, Tae-eul gets a call from their chief saying there’s been a murder. when they get there, they found the body of a young woman who was found by her roommate in her own pool of blood and it looks like she might have been killed by her boyfriend.
Back in the kingdom of Corea, Lee Gon tells his secretary, Secretary Mo that the prime minister can make the state affairs report in advance, like tomorrow which, did not settle with the prime minister. Head Court lady Noh and Seung-ah did a little sleuthing and finds out who has been talking about the palace affairs outside and maybe even stole the ID. After talking to the culprit, head court lady Noh determined that although she talked, she is not the thief and fired her.
In Korea, Shin-jae checks out the alibi of the dead girl’s roommate’s alibi and finds she’s telling the truth about been at the convenience store during the murder. On his way out of the store, he walks past a man reading a news paper that says “PARK MUN-HAENG OF HG GROUP’S SUCCESSION PROCESS UNDERWAY”. In order to catch the dead girl’s boyfriend, they stake out his house. Tae-eul goes to Na-ri’s shop afterwards and was surprised to see her hair had gone from long to short, making her look exactly like Seung-ah.

In Corea, Gon goes to the stable to get Maximus for his trip to Korea and was met by three men, one of whom looks at him in an “i am evil” kind of way. When Gon gets to the bamboo forest, he see Jo Young waiting there for him on a horse but Gon wasn’t surprised. Jo Young tells him that Tae-eul is a criminal and has been lying to him about who she is but the only thing Gon seem to take away from that was that there is a woman in his world who looks exactly like Tae-eul. Gon tells him that the two women are not the same and takes Jo Young with him to Korea.

We see a man and his son visit Lee-Rim in his art studio. As soon as the man sees him, he starts bowing and calling him your highness. Which infuriated his son and asks why do you have to do that every time while wearing my father’s face? This son then asks Lee-Rim when the succession process will be done? As he was talking, time stopped again which makes Lee-Rim realize that Gon had left again. And we see Seo-ryung catch a glimpse of her reflection on her monitor but not her. This freaked her out. Lee -Rim brings out the son’s doppelganger who happens to be the old man’s real son from Corea and asks him to kill his Korea doppleganger in order for him and his father to take over the family business. The news says “HG GROUP HAS MADE AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT THE THE SUCCESSION PROCCESS WILL END BY THE END OF THE YEAR”. And we see the two men from Corea pretending to be the real Park Mun-haeng and his son Park Byeong-u.
This brings us back to where the episode ended last week. After hugging Gon, they both went inside tae-eul’s house only for her to see Jo Young standing there. At first, she mistakes him for Eun-seob but was corrected by as soon as Jo Young opens his mouth. As Jo-Young was wrapping his head around everything, Eun-seob comes in and immediately passed out. When he woke up, Tae-eul suggets they go to Eun-seob’s house since it’s safer and tells them that since no one can know that there are two of them, only one of them can go out, the other has to stay in. Everyone immediatly volunteered Eun-seob to stay in.

Gon and Tae-eul goes to a chicken restaurant and she gives him a new mobile phone with all the numbers he needs already on it. Including Shin-Jae’s number. They go on a little date and he held her hand but she tells him since they don’t know when they’ll see each othe again, she put his arm around her neck instead.
Tae-eul asks him if there’s a dome stadium named K stadium in the Northern region with 16,890 in Corea? Gon asks her how she knows and she takes him home and shows him the news recording and they both agreed to investigate together since it looks like both worlds are colliding. Gon gives Tae-eul Lee-Rim’s autopsy report and tells her everything and that he should be sixty-nine by now and she should find him. Tae-eul asks if everyone has a doppleganger, does she have one in Corea? Gon replies yes

Lee-Rim tells one of his goons to take bags of cash to some people and puts down a news paper with a headline that says “US PRESIDENT TRUMP VISITS NORTH KOREA”. Shin Jae and Park Moon-sik were eating at a restaurant when Shin-jae notices someone taking their photos from a car before the car dives away.
Tae_eul asks her friend in forensics to run a background check on Lee-Rim and finds out that he died 24 years ago and his name was Lee Seong-jae and that his brother died from a hit and run accident and his nephew died in an accident.
In the hotel, Gon tells Jo-Young that they will be staying for a while. Which worries Jo-Young a little. Gon tells him that he is going back on Thursday and that the reason he brought Jo-Young to Korea was so he can stay behind. Gon tells him that Lee-Rim is alive and has been living in Korea all these years. As they were talking, time stops again and Gon realize that the time stopping might not be a side effect like he originally thought but the rule. Before the time starts again, he writes something on a piece of paper and puts it in Jo-Young’s pocket.
Time starts back again and he tells Jo-Young that Lee-Rim is going back and forth between both worlds as well and time stops whenever he does and tells him time stopped just now. Jo-Young asks for a prove that time stopped. Gon tells him to check his left side pocket. When he checked, he brings out the picece of paper that Gon put there, which says is this prove enough? Gon tells him that he’s not sure if Lee-Rim left or came back and the he will have to go check.
Gon tell him that both he and Lee-Rim possess half of an object and if he lose his half to Lee-Rim, he’ll be the only one that can open the gateway to both worlds and they could lose their lives and if Jo-Young sees Lee-Rim, he should kill him.
In the Kingdom of Corea, a police calls Jo-Young and tells him he has find the owner of the fingerprint after all and it belongs to Luna and she’s in prison for larceny.

Back in Corea, Seo-ryung’s secretary tells her that someone from the royal court sent a set of fingerprint to forensics and it came back as that of a woman. When he shows her Lunas photos, she was surprised that the girl she saw with the king is an ex-convict. Later at night when Seo-ryung was getting ready to go home, someone brings her a letter from her mother and when she opens it, it’s the same newspaper that Lee-Rim was ready in Korea. Thinking it was some form of a joke, since they don’t have north korea in Corea, she tossed it aside and left.
Luna gets released from prison and she’s met outside by Seo-ryung, who was waiting to talk to her.
That’s where this episode ended. once again, it is draining but all the same fun. I love Lee Jung-jin in his role as Lee-Rim. You don’t see much of him but when you do, it is frightening. Great job.
HAPPY VIEWING!!!!!
