The king : Eternal Monarch Episode 6 is here and things got political real fast. A potential war comes to the kingdom of Corea and king Gon has to do his duty and go to war.
We pick up where we left things off in the last episode. Seo-ryung shows up unexpectedly and made things Awkward for everyone. When she gets home, she gets angry and jealous that even though she always smile at Gon, he never smile back and yet, he was smiling at Tae-eul and the fact that that queen title she wants so badly seems to be slipping away. When Gon and Tae-eul got home, he takes her to the kitchen and made her a nice dinner. She once again, asks for her ID, which he shows her and she asks how could it be possicle for him to have that ID for twenty-five years when she only just got it issued?
Back in Korea, it seems Shin-jae has been sleeping in the station because of what happened with his mother. While looking at the slippers on his feet, he remembers the time Tae-eul saved him from bullies as a teenager and brought him back to the dojo after quitting for a while.
Back in the kingdom of Corea, Seo-ryung gets an important phone call and it seems like the Japanese navy ships are trespassing in the kingdom of Corea’s water and are refusing to back off. Gon decided to take the lead and maybe even go to war. He decides to send Tae-eul back to Korea earlier than planned. Gon asks head court lady Noh to bring Tae-euls things but when she gets to where she left them and opened the box, the ID she brought with her is Gone.
While in the pathway between both worlds, Tae-eul brings out a seed packet she had bought during her time in Corea and throws the seed on the ground but Gon tells her it won’t grow because there’s no air, rain or anything there and she says well, how would you know? No one has ever planted one before.
Back in Korea, Tae-eul rush home to see her father cooking and after apologizing for been away so long, she was surprised to hear he didn’t even know she was gone. Time has passed since she came back but hasn’t heard anything from Gon. She moves on with her life and work and decided to plant the rest of the seeds she brought from Corea.
Back in Corea, prince Buyeong was filled in on the latest issue about the war while he’s at a conference. And it seems like the Japanese really wants war but Gon was able to put a stop to it by firing a warning shot and the Japanese fled. Seo-ryung’s secretary comes into her office and tells her that he’s been able to win over a court lady in the palace. she tells him there was a secret guest in the palace whom the king brought in himself. That confirms what she thought when she met Tae-eul.
Back in Korea, Tae-eul keeps listening to the voicemail on the phone they found in Lee Sang-do’s store and can’t figure out why someones voice message will be the news. She asks JangMi to put Lee Sang-do’s wife on the wanted list since she might be hiding and they might catch her when she wants her young kids transferred to wherever she is.
When she gets home, she listened to the messages again and something jumps out at her. Professor Lee Jong-in, otherwise known as prince Buyeong. She remembers reading about him in Corea. He’s the second in line to the throne and the second word that jumps out at her is norther. she remembers Gon telling her that they call South and North Korea southern and Northern regions. Which made her jump out of her chair.
Back in Corea, Someone brings Gon a hair tie that Tae-eul left behind, which seemed to make him happy. Jo-Young gets a call from the police station telling him they couldn’t find any match to the fingerprint on the glass he gave them. He takes pictures of two female royal staffs and a CCTV picture of Tae-eul and shows them to the criminal that was chasing the rabbit and tells him to pick out Luna from the line up and he immediately picked out Tae-eul, which made Jo-Young slump into his chair.
Prince Buyeong comes to see Gon and gives him Lee-Rim’s actual autopsy report and tells him he hid the real report from Gon because it makes no sense. The man they found in the water, although looks like Lee-Rim and even has his DNA and fingerprint, that man died form a broken neck and was born with poliomyelitis.
Back in Korea, Lee-Rim goes to Myeong Na-ri’s cafe, which is in the same compound as Tae-eul’s house. Na-ri remarks that she’s never seen him here before to which he replies he’s new but will visit more often. He says there is a typhoon coming and then we see a photo of Shin-Jae in his photo room along with photos of other people. As he gets up to leave, two kids bumped into him and they noticed a scar on his face, like the one Gon gets on his back. Eun-seob runs to comfort the kids and led them inside.
Tae-eul comes home to find Gon waiting for her. She gets out of her car and runs to him with tears in her eyes. As he hugs her, we hear his internal monologue. He says head court lady Noh was wrong. Tae-eul isn’t a danger to him, He’s a danger to Tae-eul now that he’s sure the man that tried to kill him is still alive and that he still wants the second half of the Manpasikjeok and will come after him for it.
That’s where the episode ended. I will always have questions with this drama and here’s the new one? I know Luna is meant to be Tae-eul’s doppelganger but whats her deal? why is she running around? In the next weeks preview, we see Jo-Young holding a gun to Eun-seob. Looks like he’ll be traveling too.
