Wow! Where do i even start? it took me more than 24 hours before i actually sat down to watch and write this episode. It is getting hit up. Still a bit confusing in the writing standpoint but the viewing was quite enjoyable. So, on that note, LET’S DIVE IN.
We see Lee Rim and one of his minions on the beach when time suddenly stops. Lee Rim doesn’t seem surprised by this as it has happened to him before. Both worlds seems to be intertwining with each other as we see Eun-seob picking up and iced coffee in Korea and Jo Young picking up a very hot coffee in Corea but both of them felt the hot coffee and dropped the cup. Jo Young gets a report that the king is back. In walks the prime minister, wanting to confirm her sneaky suspicions that the king has indeed ran away again. Despite various attempts to stop her, she badges into the kings’s study but to everyone’s surprise, he’s in there. After she left, an order was given to lift the seceruity level for prince Buyeong.

Back in Korea, Tae-eul could not stop thinking about Lee Sang_do’s murder case. Saying things doesn’t add up and that she doesn’t think Kim Bok-man did it. She also states that prior to his death, Lee Sang-do hadn’t gambled in three months despite having a new account under his wife’s name and having 3.7 million points on it. It just makes no sense for a compulsive gambler. Shin Jae also agrees with her saying it makes no sense because he knows how a gambling addict behaves. Tae-eul tells her boss that she has Lee Sang-do’s phone and that it will take two weeks to get it back from forensics and they were given 2 weeks to find something but in the meantime, Division two requested their help with a robbery case.
After apprehending the suspect in the robbery case, a woman comes up to Shin-jae ad talks to him, later asking if he’s still having the nightmares? To which he looks at Tae-eul from afar and says no, only sweet dreams lately.
Back in Corea, Lee-Gon goes the the funeral of the father of captain Choi Gi-tae one of Gon’s superior in the army and on their way back from the funeral, Gon has some sort of episode after remembering Lee Shim tried to kill him as a child which does’t seem to phase Jo Young anymore but waited for him to calm down before asking Gon for his phone so he can put a GPS on it. It seems the prime minister is not very popular with other members of the cabinet because one of them was caught badmouthing her on camera, to which she retaliated by leaking a photo of him and his extramarital affairs.
The prime minister goes to see prince Buyeong at a coffee shop. She asks him that he was born the son of a king but four generations of his family are not allowed to be involved in politics nor hold any important posts. They can only be scholars. And all his children and grandchildren must live abroad. Is he OK with that? Does’t he think it’s not fair? To which he replies, he’s never thought that way. Turns out she’s only there so people can start a rumor that she’s supported by prince Buyeong.

Gon pays a visit to prince Buyeong in his office. Gon tells him that his favorite photo is the one he took with head court lady and Buyeong while holding their hands. The hand of his uncle that has to live his entire life away from his family. He asks if Buyeong hates him for that? Because of him, Buyeong can’t see his family? Gon asks Buyeong (who is his father’s cousin) if he can trust him? if Buyeong is hiding anything from him? To which Buyeong replies yes, you can trust me and am not hiding anything. Before Gon leaves, he gives Buyeong an autopsy report.
Back in Korea, we see Tae-eul brushing up on her parallel universe in the library. While over at Shin Jae’s house, his mother came home after gambling again and though winning lots a money. Angry, Shin Jae calls JamgMi to meet him at the gambling house. When they got there, Shin Jae orders the police to arrest everybody including his own mother.

Tae-eul was standing by the road, looking at her police ID when a boy on his bicycle bumped into her and she drops her ID down the drain. As she was sitting there, her phone rings and it’s her contact in forensics. She tells Tae-eul that the money that was confiscated from Gon is actually real. Even down to its watermark.

Back in Corea, Lee Rim goes back to the bookshop and once again, in the middle of a book, finds a note that reads “THE KING RETURNS TO THE PALACE”. And he figures out that his nephew has been traveling between both worlds as well and might even be the cause of the time stops. Gon is talking to Jo Young when time stops again.
Back in Korea, Lee Rim goes to the house of Song Jung-hye and find her cleaning. He tells she goes to the charnel house often and he tells her she will have to eat by herself tonight. To which she throws a towel at him asking why he never age in tears. Lee shim goes to unlock a door before going inside and it’s a darkroom for developing photographs. You see the photos of people he’s taken and developed and even that of prince Buyeong.

In the kingdom of Corea, Buyeong has the autopsy report on his table while the name Lee Jong-in pops up on screen. Gon is in his office with Jo Young who tells him not to even bother trying to run away and that he will be guarding the king and if he thinks about escaping through the window, there are guards by the window as well. Suddenly thunder sounds and he feels that searing pain on his shoulder again before asking Jo Young to help him check it out. And again, the strange markings appears. After seeing this, Jo Young runs to call the doctor, which gave Gon a chance to escape with his horse whip.
Back in Korea, Tae-eul gets the result of the phone back and finds that there’s no number or anything on it except for three voicemail and they all sounds like from the TV/Radio and she also gets her police ID reissued . All this time, she has been thinking about Gon and what he said about the date her ID was issued, which is November 11, 2019. When she looks at the date on her new ID, it was the same one Gon has. While she’s freaking out, the phone rings and it’s Gon. She rushed home, only to see him standing in front of her house with Maximus. Still a bit shaken, she asks him what her hair looks like in the photo he has and what was she wearing? Gon answers correctly. Still surprised that he’s had an ID that was just issued to her today for years, she asks him to show her his world.

As they raced through the bamboo forest, she was surprised to see the doorway and even more surprised when they get to the other side and were greeted by Jo Young and some other royal guards bowing and saying your highness. Then he finally tells her his name. My name is Lee Gon. That’s where the episode ended.

I am loving the drama. Writer Kim Eun-sook has written some of my favorite dramas. Goblin, The heir, Descendants of the sun and Mr sunshine. This drama is no exception. The chemistry between the leads are just amazing and the pace is not bad either.
HAPPY VIEWING!!!!!
